Kane County Hospital Trustee

Karla and her husband, Que, moved to Kanab 45 years ago to help with his family’s cattle ranch. Together, they raised three sons, which Karla considers her greatest accomplishment. Karla retired after 31 years of service as the Kane County Clerk/Auditor. During her career, she was recognized as Clerk of the Year and received the Utah Press Association’s John E. Jones Award. Her commitment to elections began at age 18, when she first helped with the election process, and continues today through her service as an election judge. Karla has a long history of community and statewide leadership. She served 13 years with the Chamber of Commerce, including three years as president; 16 years on the Utah Counties Indemnity Pool Board, including 12 years as secretary/treasurer; and multiple years with the Utah Association of Counties, including a term as state secretary. She currently serves on the Board of the Kane County Council on Aging.
